Our School

Over the years, Queen Elizabeth Public School has gone through several changes.  Originally educating students from Kindergarten to grade 8, QEPS now runs from Kindergarten to Grade 6.

In the 1958/1959 school year, a fire in the lower hall tested resilience of staff and students.  During that year, kindergarten was shifted to a local church, and grades 1 - 8 shared the upper hall, with half of the students attending in the morning and the other half in the afternoon.

In 2000, a renovation, adding the new large gym we enjoy today, was completed. The old gym was converted into a library and resource room.  The new space has high ceilings and a stage that folds down from the wall enabling whole school assemblies.

Currently offering a bilingual kindergarten program, a special education class, and French Immersion up to grade 6, Queen Elizabeth has a program to support all students.  With access to technology and Smartboards in every classroom, QEPS is well positioned to assist students with learning in our modern world.

Complimenting this, is the dedication to community building and extra-curricular activities.  Students have opportunities to display fine works of art, participate in many athletic activities and find their own place and ways to contribute to a culture of caring and learning.

As students wrap up their studies in grade 6 at Queen Elizabeth, they are well prepared for the next step in their educational journey.
